    Phantom Mentalists

    This is the homepage for the Phantom Mentalists, the robotics club at Phoebus High School in Hampton VA.  The Phantom Mentalists have competed in robotics competitions for several years, starting with the FIRST Robotics Competition as team 91.  Starting in 2002, the Phantom Mentalists competed in Battlebots IQ for 4 years.  Since the 2006-2007 school year, the Phantom Mentalists have completed in the FIRST Robotics Competition as team 2028.

    12977081_504821289722680_4664414384233740118_o.jpgThe Phantom Mentalists were chosen by Copperhead Robotics (Team 401) and the NASA Knights (Team 122) to join them on the 5th seeded alliance at the first inaugural Chesapeake District Championship.  We advanced to the semi-finals and set the Chesapeake District High Score!

    The Phantom Mentalists advanced to the quarter finals as captain of the 8th seeded alliance at the Central Virginia District Event.  We were joined in our quest by Titan Robotics (Team 539) and Epsilon Delta (Team 116).  Our articulating suspension was the deciding factor for the judges who awarded us the Excellence in Engineering award!  With that award, the Phantom Mentalists have earned enough district points to be invited to the Chesapeake District Championship April 7-9 at the University of Maryland.

    first-stronghold.pngThe Phantom Mentalists advanced to the quarter finals as captain of the 7th seeded alliance at the Hampton Roads District Event.  We were joined in our quest by Team 3361 (The Governators) and Team 5724 (Spartans).  Our thanks to Churchland High School for being outstanding hosts and to all the volenteers who helped make the first ever Hampton Roads District a sucess.
